American Exports: Michael Orozco helps shut down El Tri star Oribe Peralta as Puebla draw yet again

Michael Orozco Fiscal for Puebla

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Puebla are still without a win in their first three games of the Liga MX’s Apertura 2014, but DaMarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco Fiscal (pictured above center) helped secure a quality away point in Friday’s 0-0 draw at Santos Laguna.

Orozco was solid over the 90 minutes in defense, keeping Mexico international Oribe Peralta quiet, while Beasley worked the left flank before being taken off in the 64th minute.

The result means La Franja have drawn their first three games of the Apertura.

It wasn’t a positive night for Jose Torres’ Tigres UANL, who fell 2-0 at Morelia and ended the game with nine players.

Torres came on in the 57th minute with his team already down 2-0 and featured in central midfield as Monarcas held on to victory, with Juninho and Dario Burbano both getting sent off late in the match.

Tigres slid to last place in the Liga MX with the result, with just one point from their first three games of the season.

In the Ascenso MX, Austin Guerrero went 90 minutes in goal for Altamira in their 1-0 loss to Estudiantes Tecos, while Marco Vidal completed the full game for Lobos BUAP as they overcame Atlético San Luis 2-1.

Necaxa made it three wins out of three with their 2-1 victory over Zacatepec, with Sonny Guadarrama playing the first 45 and Alvarado Ventura going the full 90.
