American Exports: Hertha Berlin's John Anthony Brooks out up to two weeks with knee injury

John Anthony Brooks celebrates his goal for Hertha Berlin

AMSTERDAM – Hertha Berlin defender John Anthony Brooks is set for a short spell on the shelf after suffering a knee injury during training.

Brooks was diagnosed on Tuesday with a left PCL strain, which the club expects to keep him out about 10 to 14 days. Due to the injury, he will not join his teammates on their midseason camp trip to Turkey this week.

Brooks, who recently missed a handful of games with elbow and unrelated knee woes, has thus far worked eight league contests and one DfB-Pokal match in his rookie top-flight campaign. Thanks to three straight Bundesliga wins, the promoted side stand sixth at the season's midway point to hold the Germany's last Europa League slot.
