Seth Sinovic performs in Nutcracker ballet

One weekend, Seth Sinovic was helping his hometown team Sporting Kansas City lift the MLS Cup on their home field at Sporting Park.

The next, he was making his professional stage debut with the Kansas City Ballet and playing a small part in the company's production of the holiday classic The Nutcracker.

The MLS Cup trophy, which has made plenty of rounds already throughout Kansas City, also made an appearance during the show. It sat just next to the Christmas tree as the set's centerpiece prop.

While Sinovic freely admits that his day job as a left back doesn't exactly lend itself to a career in ballet, he kept an open mind and adhered to the best advice possible: keep it simple.

"Thankfully I'm not doing anything too athletic, or strenuous, or ballet-related. ... I think I'll be alright," Sinovic told SportingKC.com prior to the performance.

"The nerves were definitely there, but everybody was really nice and really helpful, and made everything I did really easy, so I had a lot of fun.
