AMSTERDAM – Everton netminder Tim Howard continued his Goodison Park mastery over Fulham on Saturday, as the hosts tentatively climbed to fourth in the EPL with a 4-1 decision.

The US star needed just a pair of early second-half stops to run his Toffees home record against Fulham to a perfect 8-0-0. Howard was only beaten when Dimitar Berbatov temporarily leveled matters from the penalty spot in the 67th minute.

The veteran 'keeper is now undefeated in nine matches and has lost just twice in his last 34 home starts. Meanwhile, Everton posted their 21st consecutive win over Fulham in the friendly confines.

Around the Premier League, Jozy Altidore came up empty on a few chances during his 73 minutes as Sunderland battled to a 0-0 draw at West Ham United.

In the first half, the striker was twice denied by a low save from Hammers backstop Jussi Jääskeläinen. Altidore also had a decent penalty gripe ignored near intermission.

The result saw cellar dwellers Sunderland extend their winless streak to five games and their road goal drought to 476 minutes.
