D.C. United have signed forward Conor Doyle on a permanent basis from England's Derby County, the club announced Friday.
The former US youth international, now 22, spent the second half of the 2013 season on loan with the Black-and-Red, registering two goals and an assist over the course of 14 MLS appearances. He also came off the bench in both the semifinal and final of D.C.'s successful US Open Cup run.

“Conor is a very talented, young forward that will continue to improve,” said D.C. United scouting coordinator Kurt Morsink in a statement. “His ability to get in good spots and anticipate service is very rare for his age, and makes him a unique forward.”
Doyle originally signed for Derby in 2010 after spending a semester at Creighton University, but injuries derailed his progress in England after initially making 14 first-team appearances in his first season there. He has also appeared six times for the US Under-20 national team, scoring four goals, including two at the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
