American Exports: Alejandro Bedoya stays hot with game-winner for Nantes

Alejandro Bedoya with FC Nantes

On the day his USMNT was drawn into the World Cup group of death, Nantes midfielder Alejandro Bedoya gave US hopes a shot of life with yet another goal.

Bedoya, starting in his now-customary right midfield role, slotted home in the 16th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead they would never relinquish at Marseilles. The win lifted Les Canaris above the hosts into fourth place on 29 points, eight back of leaders PSG.

Due east in Germany, erstwhile USMNT fullback Timmy Chandler had a much less productive day, coming off with an injury knock in the 61st minute of FC Nurnberg's 1-1 home draw with Mainz. The dropped points kept Nurnberg both winless and second-from-bottom through 15 matchdays.

Across the border in Denmark's Superliga, Conor O'Brien worked 70 minutes against his last employers as Odense BK's road woes continued with a 2-0 loss at FC Nordsjælland. Now winless in four away from home, OB slipped to sixth place.
