Landon Donovan's television analyst debut on Tuesday taught us two things:
One, Donovan is very good at anything he does — both on and off the soccer field — because he knows the game and he puts considerable time and effort in preparation.
Two, Donovan's US national team teammate Jermaine Jones is actually more French than German or American.
That second observation comes from the above video, one of the more fantastically horrible impressions that live television has ever seen. Donovan, who is appearing on FOX Sports 1's UEFA Champions League coverage this week, will now receive one late, studs up and from behind tackle courtesy of Jones during the USMNT's next training camp.
To his credit, Jones took the joke well and had the following to say to Donovan via Twitter on Wednesday:
Still, keep your head on a swivel, Landon.
