Fans all around the world: AJ DeLaGarza meets random Galaxy fans in Southeast Asia | SIDELINE

AJ DeLaGarza with two random Galaxy fans in Cambodia

Success on the field in the form of back-to-back MLS Cup championships? Check. The LA Galaxy did that in 2011 and 2012.

Growing a global "brand" and becoming recognizable and known in every corner of the world? Apparently well on their way, as displayed through social media over the weekend by Galaxy defender A.J. DeLaGarza.

DeLaGarza, currently touring Southeast Asia with the Guam national team, was probably even surprised himself to run into the below soccer fans wearing the jerseys of his very own Major League Soccer team while roaming the city streets of Cambodia.

That was on Sunday. This was the latest on Monday.

And then there was also this, if you looked closely at the background of the first photo.

One can't help but wonder, though, how did these conversations go down?

DeLaGarza (while trying to overcome obvious language barrier): You're wearing a Galaxy jersey. I play for the Galaxy.

Child (while simultaneously not recognizing and not understanding DeLaGarza): Uh, what?

DeLaGarza (thinking hard about how to explain it): I know David Beckham and Landon Donovan. [Pulls out cell phone and shows child photo of him in a Galaxy jersey, celebrating the 2011 or 2012 MLS Cup with Beckham and Donovan]

Child (finally getting it): David Beckham! Landon Donovan! [Shows DeLaGarza the waistband of his H&M boxer briefs of which Beckham has designed and modeled]

[DeLaGarza takes a photo of them together and posts it on Instagram]

Ah, the Internet.
