The US U-20 national team kicked off its three-game Italian stint in rocky fashion on Thursday, dropping a 4-1 decision to Hellas Verona's Primavera (U-20) side.

All seven MLS Homegrown players on the roster played, including FC  Dallas' Kellyn Acosta (above, left), who set up the opening goal of the game with a feed to Ben Spencer in first half. Verona would equalize later in the half, and scored three more unanswered on New York Red Bulls 'keeper Santiago Castaño in the second half.

Castaño's Red Bulls teammates Matt Miazga and Amando Moreno also both played a half for the U-20s, as did the Philadelphia Union's Zach Pfeffer, RSL's Benji Lopez and Chivas USA's Marco Delgado.

Tab Ramos' team, largely composed of recent graduates from the US U-17 and U-18 teams, will remain in Italy to face the Iran U-20 national team on Nov. 18 and an opponent to be determined on Nov. 19.
