Tim Cahill's 8-second strike for New York Red Bulls narrowly wins Week 34's AT&T Goal of the Week

The fastest goal in MLS history is also this week's best. Not by much, though.


Tim Cahill's record-setting, eight-second, game-winning strike in the New York Red Bulls' 3-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo this past Sunday was voted the Week 34 AT&T Goal of the Week, narrowly edging out Gabriel Torres' gorgeous shot in the Colorado Rapids' 3-2 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps. Cahill earned earned exactly half a percentage point more than Torres, claiming 39.47 percent of the vote.


Cahill joins fellow Designated Player Thierry Henry as Red Bulls players to claim the Goal of the Week award this season. Henry took home the honors back in Weeks 5 and 11.
