American Exports: Michael Orozco Fiscal shines, but DaMarcus Beasley picks up injury worry

Michael Orozco Fiscal throws in

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Michael Orozco Fiscal put in the kind of performance for Puebla on Saturday that will keep him at the forefront of US coach Jurgen Klinsmann’s mind when it comes to next month’s World Cup qualifiers.

Orozco Fiscal and Puebla kept a clean sheet in the 0-0 tie in the Estadio Universitario against Tigres and the American was a key figure in guiding the defense, playing on the right hand side of three center backs.

Although his main responsibility was to defend, Orozco Fiscal was also charged with stepping out of the back three as La Franja attempted to nick a goal on the counter-attack, with Tigres dominating possession.

Jose Torres went 68 minutes in central midfield for Tigres and was smart in his passing without providing the penetration that the home side lacked.

DaMarcus Beasley missed out with an injury to his left hamstring and although Puebla hasn’t said how serious the injury is, he was still considered a possibility by coach Rubén Omar Romano on Friday.
