The game was supposed to be about charity. Instead, a celebrity tackle is all anyone was talking about in the end.

Sunday's Stiliyan Petrov charity match at Celtic Park in Glasgow was a star-studded affair to raise funds for a foundation that was set up by Petrov, who retired from soccer after a battle against leukemia.

Then came the 53rd minute and a challenge by Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor on One Direction star Louis Tomlinson. The tackle left the pop star on the ground and he eventually came out of the match after reportedly falling ill.

The entire incident led to a #PrayForLouis hashtag on Twitter, while also prompting some of Tomlinson's fans to lash out at Agbonlahor with threats.

This despite the fact that his manager on the day, Martin O'Neill assured everyone he was fine: "Agbonlahor smashed into him and he picked himself up and then was ill in the dressing room area, but he's not too bad now I think. He had to rush off but I think he's fine, he doesn't know where he is but he's fine. He was genuinely ill but he's okay now."

Agbonlahor also promised to make up for his challenge: "'It was one of those things. I'll apologise to Louis when we meet up with everybody after the game."
