Kelyn Rowe grabs Player of the Week honors after brace in big New England Revolution win

Kelyn Rowe

This weekend Kelyn Rowe reminded everyone of the quality that made him a No. 3 overall SuperDraft selection last year.

Thanks to his two-goal performance in New England's 5-1 mauling of the Philadelphia Union on Sunday, Rowe was voted the MLS Player of the Week for Week 26 on Monday. The 21-year-old midfielder scored from distance on each side of halftime against the Union, which helped the Revolution leapfrog the Houston Dynamo for fifth place in the tight Eastern Conference. (See how the North American Soccer Reporters voted here.)

Rowe is the second Revolution player to win the award this season, joining Week 14 winner Diego Fagundez. Fellow New England forward Juan Agudelo claimed the honors in Week 4, but he was with Chivas USA at the time.
