Fredy Montero takes reporters' questions at Sporting Clube in Lisbon

If scoring a hat trick on your debut is any indication, former Seattle Sounders forward Fredy Montero has quickly taken to living and playing in Portugal.

Montero, who is currently on loan with Sporting Clube de Portugal, has scored wherever he has gone in his career — 47 goals in 119 games with the Sounders and 8 in 22 during a six-month loan to Millonarios in Colombia before moving to Sporting — so Sunday's performance should come as little or no surprise to those who have seen Montero play regularly the last five years.

Montero bagged goals number two, four and five in Sporting's 5-1 thrashing of Arouca, and the best of the bunch is undoubtedly the one that completed the hat trick. That's exactly the kind of skill and foresight that, in just five years time, saw the Colombian go from two-year loanee in Seattle, to Designated Player, to a hat trick on his European debut.

Sporting might just look to hit up the Sounders about activating that permanent purchase clause a bit sooner than first expected if Montero keeps up Sunday's torrid scoring pace.
