Landon Donovan named Player of the Week after hat-trick performance for LA Galaxy

Landon Donovan celebrates his hat trick with Todd Dunivant

If his Golden Ball performance at the CONCACAF Gold Cup wasn't proof enough that Landon Donovan was back to his dominant self, this past weekend might have been.

The LA Galaxy star continued his recent stellar form by scoring a hat-trick in his team's 3-3 draw with FC Dallas on Sunday. The impressive performance saw the veteran attacker claim the MLS Player of the Week award in Week 24, making him the second Galaxy player to win the honors this season. (See how the North American Soccer Reporters voted here.)

Donovan, who now has six goals on the season, scored two equalizers against FC Dallas before capping off his hat-trick outing with a late goal that temporarily put the Galaxy out in front.
