American Exports: Joe Corona, Edgar Castillo return in Club Tijuana's win over Pachuca

Edgar Castillo in action for Club Tijuana

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Greg Garza started and went the full 90 minutes for Club Tijuana in their 1-0 win over Pachuca in Liga MX play on Tuesday at Estadio Caliente.

The Texan left back was on form for Xolos, dealing with the threat of former teammate Duvier Riascos with aplomb, even if he didn’t get forward as much as usual.

Fresh from winning the Gold Cup, Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo both came off the bench in the 67th minute, with Xolos already up and coach Jorge Almirón looking to ensure the result.

Castillo (above) played on the left wing in front of Garza and looked like he came back from US national team duty full of confidence, although he did pick up a needless yellow in the 69th for a late tackle.

Corona was positioned in front of the two defensive midfielders, but was quiet for the time he was on the pitch, with Los Tuzos pushing for an equalizer.

Paul Arriola remained on the bench for Club Tijuana.
