Two of the most controversial plays in Week 21 were sanctioned by the MLS Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday.

The Committee issued a one-game suspension and a fine to both FC Dallas forward Eric Hassli and Real Salt Lake defender Chris Wingert "for violent conduct" in two separate incidents over the weekend.

Hassli, who will miss his club's Aug. 3 trip to Seattle, kicked out at Montreal midfielder Davy Arnaud in the 84th minute at Stade Saputo as he chased down a ball in the box.

Meanwhile Wingert charged into Sporting Kansas City forward Kei Kamara in the first minute of their match at Rio Tinto Stadium. Wingert will serve his red-card suspension in the July 27 match vs. RBNY, while sitting out RSL's Aug. 3 match in Colorado due to the Disciplinary Committee suspension.

In Hassli's case, the committee felt his kick "demonstrated disregard for the safety of his opponent," while Wingert's actions "endangered the safety of his opponent."

In addition, the commmittee also fined Portland Timbers defender Andrew Jean-Baptiste for "embellishment" in the 18th minute of the 0-0 draw at the Philadelphia Union.
