I don't think Belize is going to be as much of a pushover as we think they are. They've held some very good teams like Honduras and Costa Rica in check. Guatemala's first half against the US last Friday will likely be their blueprint, and they may nick a goal. But like that game, I expect the US to eventually get it in gear and turn on the juice. |

Facing a national team without history and no experience in international tournaments, it shouldn’t be a problem for the US to thrash Belize by a wide margin. Here's hoping Landon Donovan once again shows the spark displayed vs. Guatemala. I see the US securing half their ticket to the quarterfinals in this game. |

The US is full of attackers who want to prove they belong in the 18 — or even the 11 — when the next set of qualifiers comes around. They will be goal-hungry, and Belize will suffer. |

Belize's federation president said he wants his boys to embarrass the USMNT. Well, it's much more likely the tiny nation goes the other way and makes sure it isn't embarrassed by what is clearly a superior side. They'll bunker effectively for awhile before the Americans break through. |

Belize will no doubt be fired up for this one, and it'll keep them afloat through the first part of the game, but the US' quality will eventually shine through and give them a comfortable win to kick things off. |

The US will not waste this opportunity to get out in front of the group. They have the talent to excel against the group minnow, and I don't expect them to have too much trouble breaking down what should be a bunkering team. The earlier the first goal comes, the higher the scoreline, but I think Belize might be able to hold their own for 30-35 mins. |

Since this is Belize's first international competition, not to mention they'll have to play in front of a frenzied crowd at JELD-WEN, I see the US with a comfortable game on their hands. Why not more than 5? The Belizeans will close themselves after the first few goals, only allowing Klinsmann's boys to take aim from distance. |
