With a long-term suspension keeping him from the Canadian national team’s plans, Olivier Occean is devoting his entire energy to his club career as he’s set to join his fourth team in Germany.
After a disappointing debut season with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga in which he scored just once in 17 games, the forward has moved back to the 2.Bundesliga — the league where he’s enjoyed the most success, scoring 17 goals in 30 games during the 2011-12 season.
Occean will be making the move to FC Kaiserslautern for the 2013-14 campaign. The club finished third in the German second division last season.
On the field in Sweden, it was a productive week for goalkeeper Kenny Stamatopoulos as his club AIK are battling near the top of a very congested Allsvenskan table. Stamatopoulos was in goal for a pair of games as AIK picked up four points, beating Helsingborg 2-1 on Thursday and following that up with a scoreless draw against Mjallby on Monday. They're in fifth place, just five points out of first.
Over in Finland, defender Roger Thompson also saw action in two games but with less favorable results. On Thursday, Mariehamm were on the losing end of a 5-0 thumping at the hands of HJK and followed that up with a 3-1 loss to MyPa on Sunday. They’re currently in fifth place in the Veikkausliiga and nine points back of first.

Down a division in the Ykkonen, goalkeeper David Monsalve is finding some form with Oulu with two shutouts last week. Oulu beat Viikingit 2-0 on Wednesday and then played KooTeePee on the road to a scoreless draw. Oulu sit in fifth place with 17 points through 11 games and are 12 points back of first.
In Singapore, the S-League got back to action after the League Cup took over the schedule in mid-June and all three Canadians saw the field for their respective clubs.
Sherif El-Masri’s Young Lions are making a play for "worst club in the world" honors, as they've registered just one point in 14 league games. El-Masri played the full 90 minutes on Thursday as Young Lions lost 3-1 to Balestier Khalsa.
Forward Jerome Baker also made a losing return to action with Hougang United as they conceded a late own goal to lose 1-0 to Woodlands Wellington. Baker came off the bench to start the second half.
Midfielder Jordan Harvey had the best result of the Singapore-based Canadians as he played the full 90 minutes on Thursday for Home United in their 1-1 draw with Tanjong Pagar.
