Rumor Central: Fredy Montero reportedly agrees five-year deal with Sporting Lisbon | THE SIDELINE

Fredy Montero's time with the Seattle Sounders is looking more and more likely at its end following Thursday reports from Portugal that the 25-year-old forward has agreed a five-year contract with Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon.

Montero has been on loan to Millonarios in his native Colombia since January, and rumors of an early end to his year-long loan deal started to swirl early last week with reported interest from a then-unnamed Portuguese club

The Sounders still hold Montero's contractual rights and would obviously be entitled to a transfer fee from any purchasing clubs, should a deal go through.

Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer lent some amount of credibility to the Lisbon reports on Thursday, speaking to reporters and The Seattle Times' Joshua Mayers following Sounders training:

Most Sounders fans have already accepted the fact that Montero was gone for good after the loan in January, so if you're the Sounders, what's an acceptable transfer fee for a 25-year-old goalscorer like Montero? Also, is going to Portugal really a step up from Major League Soccer, or is this a lateral move for Montero?
