Rapids midfieler Martín Rivero will miss two weeks with a thigh injury, the midfielder tweeted on Sunday morning.
“I’ll have two weeks of recovery,” Rivero wrote on Twitter. “To recover well [sic] and go back to business as usual!”
That means that Rivero will miss his 10th game this season on Sunday when Colorado travel to JELD-WEN Field to take on the Timbers (7 pm ET, NBC Sports Network, live chat on MLSsoccer.com).

Rapids head coach Oscar Pareja said that Rivero felt a pain in his quad when he was forced to come out in the 55th minute of Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to the Chicago Fire.
The loss is a significant one for the Rapids, who have lost two straight after a six-game unbeaten run. Colorado is 2-1-1 in Rivero’s four starts and 3-2-2 in the seven games he’s played in overall.
The dynamic attacking midfielder led the Rapids with eight assists in 2012 and has two assists in his seven games so far this year. Colorado has averaged 1.29 goals per game in Rivero's seven games compared to 0.89 goals in the nine games without him.
The 23-year-old Argentine midfielder broke his foot in late January, forcing him to miss the first eight games of the season, and lingering foot pain also caused him miss a 2-2 draw with FC Dallas on June 1.
Rookie Dillon Powers has typically shifted to a more attacking midfield role in Rivero’s absence so far this year.
