MLS Disciplinary Committee fines Real Salt Lake midfielder Ned Grabavoy for simulation

Real Salt Lake midfielder Ned Grabavoy's face says it all: They're losing.

Real Salt Lake midfielder Ned Grabavoy was fined an undisclosed amount by the MLS Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday for an act of simulation against the LA Galaxy this past Saturday.

Galaxy midfielder Marcelo Sarvas was called for tripping up Grabavoy along the sideline in the 90th minute and was cautioned on the play. But the Disciplinary Committee "unanimously determined that it was an obvious act of simulation by Grabavoy as there was no contact made," according to a league release.

The booking to Sarvas will cause him to miss out on the Galaxy's next match against the Portland Timbers on June 19 due to yellow-card accumulation.

LA manager Bruce Arena stated after the match, a 3-1 Galaxy defeat, that "we’re going to ask the referee to re-evaluate that, because I think he missed that play. Hopefully they have the intelligence to look at that play and take away the card.”
