The 100th edition of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup enters the second round on Tuesday night, and although MLS teams do not enter the competition until May 28, there is still plenty of intrigue to go around, as lower-league teams, professional and amateur alike, including the Seattle Sounders' and Portland Timbers' U-23 teams, will battle for 16 available spots in the third round.

The second round will consist of 17 professional teams – six entrants from the North American Soccer League (NASL) and 11 from the USL PRO – plus 15 amateur teams – 12 from the USL Premier Development League (PDL), one from the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and two from the US Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
