American Exports: Carlos Bocanegra likely to move again, MLS remains a possibility

Carlos Bocanegra

AMSTERDAM – The agent for Racing Santander loan defender Carlos Bocanegra says his client is sorting through potential destinations for a summer move, both back home and abroad.

The 33-year-old center back, who still has four games remaining with the Segunda División survivalists, is due to revert back to being a Rangers player at the end of June. However, Bocanegra appears eager to find a new club instead of suiting up in the Scottish third flight until his contract runs out at the end of next season.

"There's interest in MLS, England and a few clubs on the continent," Bocanegra's agent, Lyle Yorks told MLSsoccer.com. "We're looking at his options."

The news should come as welcome to US national team boss Jurgen Klinsmann who publicly advised the captain against returning to Ibrox last month. Bocanegra has yet to appear for the USMNT this season, with his last action coming against Russia in December.
