American Exports: Alejandro Bedoya, Mix Diskerud both help sides to big victories in Scandinavia

AMSTERDAM – Alejandro Bedoya and Helsingborg continued their productive form on Monday, with the American notching an assist as the home side retained the top spot in the Swedish Allsvenskan with a 5-0 drubbing of Häcken.


Shortly before departing in the 86th minute, the US international set up Álvaro Santos for the Reds' last goal of the night. Bedoya (above) has raced out of the blocks as Helsingborg's new No. 10 this term, ringing up five goals and four assists through the first 11 competitive matches.

Helsingborg, who have now won five straight games by a 17-2 combined tally, restored last week's two-point league lead.


Next door in Norway, Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg dug deep to pull out a 2-1 road win despite nine saves from Hønefoss netminder Steve Clark. The Troll Kids jumped up to third place, while the home side stayed in 11th.
