Kei Kamara to rejoin Sporting Kansas City, eligible for selection in midweek game vs. Seattle

Sporting KC's Kei Kamara celebrates opening goal vs. LA Galaxy

Kei Kamara's future may not be back in Kansas City after Norwich City elected not to exercise their option to buy the Sporting KC winger, but one thing is certain:

The man with the heart-shaped hands is headed back to the City of Fountains, at least for now. Sporting Kansas City announced on Sunday that Kamara is headed back to the club and will officially rejoin training on Tuesday.

Kamara, who was Sporting's leading scorer from 2010-12 with 30 total goals, will be available for selection when SKC host Seattle on Wednesday in a rematch of last year's US Open Cup final (8:30 pm ET, watch LIVE online).

The Sierra Leone international spent the past four months on loan to the English Premier League side and scored one goal in 11 appearances for the Canaries, his last as a 70th-minute substitute in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Aston Villa.

Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes told reporters on Friday that the club could explore other offers for Kamara if Norwich declined their option to buy the 28-year-old's contract.
