Vancouver Whitecaps' Kenny Miller to miss trip to San Jose with hamstring knock

Kenny Miller, Vancouver Whitecaps, strips Columbus Crew's Glauber of the ball and goes in for a goal.

VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Vancouver Whitecaps will have to do without leading scorer Kenny Miller this weekend.

The Scottish forward is out for Saturday's match at San Jose (10:30 pm ET, watch LIVE online) due to a hamstring complaint, and the Whitecaps confirmed he did not make the trip to Northern California.

"Midway through Tuesday’s training session, Miller withdrew from practice as a result of some tightness in his right hamstring," a club spokesman told MLSsoccer.com on Friday. "He did not train on Thursday and earlier today, it was decided that he will stay in Vancouver for additional treatment."
