US make late addition to squad vs. Mexico as Azteca hero Michael Orozco Fiscal joins team

MEXICO CITY — The U.S. Soccer Federation on Monday night confirmed that Puebla defender Michael Orozco Fiscal was called up to join the US squad in place of injured midfielder Jermaine Jones for Tuesday night's World Cup qualifier against the Mexican national team (10:30 pm ET, ESPN and Univision, LIVE chat on MLSsoccer.com).


Orozco Fiscal was not at the team's walk-through on Monday evening at the Estadio Azteca, the USA's final preparation for the match.

The former Philadelphia Union defender scored the historic game-winner on August 15, 2012 at the Azteca for the USA's first-ever win at the Estadio Azteca.


The addition of Orozco Fiscal takes the US squad total to 24 players, with only 23 allowed to suit up for the game, according to competition rules.
