AMSTERDAM – Brad Friedel and Tottenham Hotspur put one foot in the Europa League quarterfinals on Thursday with a 3-0 victory over guests Inter Milan.
The veteran netminder needed just two saves to post his third win at White Hart Lane during the 2012-13 edition of the tournament. Friedel was at his best to keep the clean sheet with late larceny on the free-running Rodrigo Palacio.
Clint Dempsey did not feature for the home side, as he is still sidelined by injury.
For Spurs, it was their 11th win in a 13-game unbeaten streak across all competitions. The clubs will reunite at San Siro next Thursday, March 14, to complete the tie.
