AMSTERDAM – Paços de Ferreira attacker Arturo Alvarez (above left) has moved on loan to Hungarian side Videoton for the rest of the season.
The Europa League chasers reportedly hold a summer purchase option on the Houston-born El Salvador international. Alvarez logged a goal and an assist in just five appearances for Portugal's current third-place club this term
Videoton, who were UEFA Cup runners up in 1985, stand two points out of a European slot in fourth place with 13 games left on the league slate. They will return from the extended winter break with a March 3 visit to Budapest Honvéd.
Though Alvarez is ready to embark on a new adventure in Europe, Chivas USA hold his rights, should the former San Jose, Dallas and Real Salt Lake man choose to return to MLS.
