Honduras national team manager Luis Fernando Suárez has named his 23-man roster ahead of the opening Hexagonal World Cup qualifier against the US national team on February 6 in San Pedro Sula.
The squad features five current MLS players (Víctor Bernárdez, Andy Najar, Boniek García, Mario Martínez and Jerry Bengtson), one longtime MLS player recently moved to England (Roger Espinoza) and a few names rumored to be heading to MLS (Arnold Peralta and Alex López).
The group of players, featuring seven Europe-based players and six hailing from legendary Honduran side Olimpia, will begin to report into camp on Wednesday, with foreign-based players joining training on next Monday, February 4.
Suárez's team is coming off a narrow 1-0 loss to Costa Rica in Sunday's final of the Copa Centroamericana, the championship for Central American clubs.
