Report: Stoke City agree on fee for FC Dallas winger Shea

Brek Shea

Is it finally time for Brek Shea to move overseas?

According to a tweet earlier on Friday by ESPN analyst Taylor Twellman, English Premier League side Stoke City's bid for the FC Dallas winger was accepted. Twellman reported the deal is contingent on passing a physical.

FC Dallas declined to comment on the report when contacted Friday by MLSsoccer.com.

In the middle of his breakout 2011 season, FCD signed Shea to a deal through 2015, leading many to believe that a long-rumored transfer to Europe was unlikely in the near future, but Tony Pulis’ side has clearly taken a preference to Americans over the past year.

Shea, who trained with Arsenal in the winter of 2011, would join fellow US international Geoff Cameron at Stoke; Maurice Edu is also a Potter, but was loaned to Turkish side Bursaspor on Thursday for the remainder of the season.
