Sources: DC United reject Anderlecht bid for Andy Najar

Andy Najar with Anderlecht

AMSTERDAM – Belgian champs Anderlecht have had an offer for D.C. United wing phenom Andy Najar rejected by the club, multiple sources confirmed to MLSsoccer.com.

The Honduran international is spending the month of January on loan to the Mauves, but talks are well underway concerning a full transfer. The sources indicated that Anderlecht could return with a new bid for Najar in the coming days.

Meanwhile, United boss Ben Olsen insists they are in no mood to sell.

"I'm expecting Andy to be back," Olsen told MLSsoccer.com at Thursday's MLS SuperDraft in Indianapolis. "That's what I'm preparing for."

Najar's next chance for a debut with the Jupiler League leaders will arrive with second-place visitors Zulte-Waregem on Sunday. Anderlecht top the table by eight points with eight regular-season games remaining before Belgium's unique championship hexagonal.
