American Exports: Bradley miss costs Roma in loss

Michael Bradley with AS Roma

AMSTERDAM – Michael Bradley was largely solid in the AS Roma midfield on Sunday, but a glaring miss in front of goal contributed to their 1-0 Serie A defeat at Catania.

The US international somehow fired over from close range near intermission, but he was far from alone in wasting Giallorossi chances on the night. Bradley also set up a good stoppage-time opportunity for Dodô to equalize, but the stand-in winger could not convert.

Roma have now dropped two straight and three of four to fall to sixth place.

Over in La Liga, Oguchi Onyewu watched on as Málaga fell 3-1 to visiting table-toppers Barcelona. The fifth-place Anchovies have dropped consecutive league matches.

Down one flight, Carlos Bocanegra sat out Racing Santander's 2-0 loss at Hércules after returning to Spain late due to visa complications.
