American Exports: Bradley's scudetto dreams suffer blow

Michael Bradley

AMSTERDAM – Michael Bradley pitched in with a decent but ultimately frustrating effort as AS Roma suffered a 4-1 defeat at Napoli on Sunday night.

Only one player shipped more successful passes than the US midfielder on a night when the visitors dominated possession before Miralem Pjanic was sent off with a second yellow in the 74th minute.

Bradley made three late bids to close the deficit via headers, only to come up empty. The first two attempts missed just wide, while the third was cruelly denied by Napoli 'keeper Morgan De Sanctis near time.

The lopsided loss cost Roma a chance to climb into third place in the Scudetto race. Instead, they dropped their second straight road decision to remain sixth.
