American Exports: Spector, Packwood could make return

Birmingham City's Jonathan Spector

AMSTERDAM – Birmingham City are crossing their fingers that both Will Packwood and Jonathan Spector (above) will be fit for a return to action when they visit Tim Ream's Bolton on Saturday.

Young handyman Packwood watched Wednesday's victory at Barnsley from sick bay, while his veteran example has missed the last three contests with an ankle sprain.

"Will was ill for Boxing Day, so he stayed back at the hotel," Brums press officer Andy Walker told MLSsoccer.com. "He will be assessed before the [Bolton] game.

"Jonathan turned his ankle in the game at Wolverhampton, it was an awkward landing. He trained yesterday and he is scheduled to train today. If he comes through that okay, he will be available [on Saturday]."

While level on points with their weekend hosts, Birmingham currently stand three spots back in 19th on goal differential.
