American Exports preview: Howard takes road hex to Stoke

Tim Howard is bearded

AMSTERDAM – The weekend has again brought a healthy card of action for Americans playing in Europe, including Geoff Cameron's first EPL showdown with Tim Howard and Everton. All times listed in ET.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Geoff Cameron (Stoke), Tim Howard, (EVE) - Stoke City vs. Everton (Saturday, 10 am on Fox Soccer 2Go)
After getting the better of Clint Dempsey last weekend, Howard will now face US teammate Cameron for the first time. The Everton netminder is winless in the last six road games, but he's managed a 1-1-2 record at the Britannia. The Potters, who can move level on points with their fourth place visitors through victory, have won three in a row at home.

Brad Guzan, Eric Lichaj – Aston Villa at Liverpool (Saturday, 10 am on Fuel TV/Fox Soccer 2Go)
Both Americans should start when the Villans try to move clear of the bottom three. Guzan has allowed just one goal on their current four-game unbeaten run. Villa have won just once in 16 EPL away matches, but they've posted an even 1-1-1 split in their last three at Anfield.

ITALIAN SERIE A

Michael Bradley – AS Roma at Chievo (Sunday, 9 am)
The US midfielder has played every minute of a five-game win streak. This week, the Giallorossi will visit his last employers, who have recently jumped out of the drop zone with two straight wins. Chievo have scored one win in 20 series meetings, but they've held Roma to a draw on five of their last seven visits.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

Fabian Johnson, Daniel Williams – Hoffenheim vs. Borussia Dortmund (Sun. 9:30 am on GolTV)
About the last thing Hoffenheim need right now is a visit from the defending champs – or so one might think. Sure, the hosts have lost five straight by a combined 15-5 tally, but they've also taken three of four at home to BvB. While Johnson is certain to start, a pair of rough outings may have Williams' place in jeopardy.

Timothy Chandler – FC Nürnberg at Werder Bremen (Sunday, 11:30 am on GolTV)
The right back's form revival has coincided with Der Club moving away from the danger thanks to eight points in five games. A win on Sunday would allow FCN to start focusing on a European place instead of the grisly matter of relegation. Nürnberg have traditionally fared terribly in Bremen, but Chandler has helped them win the last two times in town.
