Real Salt Lake deal Braun to Toronto for defender Maund

Justin Braun debut Real Salt Lake August 4, 2012

Justin Braun’s time with Real Salt Lake has come to an end after just six months playing for his hometown club, as the youngster was traded to Toronto FC on Monday for defender Aaron Maund.

Braun, who famously made his way to MLS after he was spotted playing for a men's amateur team in Salt Lake City, made just two appearances for RSL after being acquired from the Montreal Impact on July 11. The 25 year-old striker made 14 appearances for Real Salt Lake and Montreal combined in 2012 after spending four seasons with Chivas USA.

Maund, 22, made 15 league appearances along with three appearances in the group stage of CONCACAF Champions League last season for Toronto FC. The former US Under-20 product was originally selected 12th overall in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft out of Notre Dame.
