American Exports: Chandler question mark with calf strain

Timothy Chandler, FC Nurnburg

AMSTERDAM – The calf strain that shortened FC Nürnberg right back Timothy Chandler's night on Wednesday is not serious, says the club, but it remains to be seen whether he will be able to participate on their weekend trip to Bayer Levekusen.

The US international, who was removed in the 58th minute of their 2-1 midweek win over Hoffenheim, is expected to have a fitness check during Friday's training session.

"His muscle tightened and he was taken off as a precaution, so as not to make it worse," FCN press liaison Luana Valentini told MLSsoccer.com. "We don't know if he will play on Saturday."

To date, Chandler has started all 14 league matches for Der Club this season. A three-game unbeaten run has moved Nürnberg clear of the drop zone in 13th place.
