American Exports: New Yorker chased in Holland, Belgium

Conor O'Brien and SønderjyskE celebrate

AMSTERDAM – SønderjyskE midfielder Conor O'Brien appears set to depart when his contract expires at year's end after extension talks with the Danish battlers broke down.

Multiple clubs in Belgium and the Netherlands are currently preparing pitches for the 24-year-old New York native, MLSsoccer.com has learned. O'Brien also has admirers up the Superliga food chain, but may ultimately be tempted by a move to the Lowlands.

"At the moment, we have stopped the negotiations [with SønderjyskE]," O'Brien's agent, Allan Bak Jensen, told MLSsoccer.com. "He has some interest from other Danish clubs and from elsewhere in Europe."

This term, O'Brien has three goals and three assists in 13 Superliga matches. The American will take up his usual central midfield place when SønderjyskE visit Esbjerg on Sunday.
