American Exports: Diskerud scores, Parkhurst sets up 2

Mix Diskerud celebrates his first Rosenborg goal

AMSTERDAM – Three Americans clocked in across the pond on Friday night, with Mikkel Diskerud scoring the final goal in Rosenborg's 5-2 demolition of FK Haugesund.

The US midfielder, who also saw his string of 61 Tippeligaen games without a yellow card end, redirected home a right-wing cross from the doorstep two minutes from time. The victory tentatively lifted the Troll Kids to the summit ahead of champs Molde FK, who play Sunday.

To the south in Germany's Bundesliga, Jermaine Jones went into the ref's book as Schalke blew an early two-goal lead to settle for a 2-2 draw at Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The midfielder worked 73 minutes, departing just before the promoted home side netted the late equalizer. Schalke remained unbeaten on the season, edging their way up to third place.

Across the border in Denmark, Michael Parkhurst notched two assists as Superliga champs FC Nordsjælland got well with a 3-0 defeat of guests Esbjerg.

The right back released Kasper Lorentzen for the Wild Tigers' second on 51 minutes, and then teed up Nicolai Stokholm for the capper with a minute to play. The win snapped third place FCN's three-game win drought in league play.
