Goal of the Matchday

Montero edges Henry for AT&T Goal of the Week honors

Fredy Montero celebrates his volley vs. Timbers

Any goal that beats an olimpico in the AT&T Goal of the Week voting better be, to borrow a phrase from Bill and Ted, most impressive.

Hard to argue that Fredy Montero's snappy volley into the upper 90 in Seattle's draw with Portland was anything but that. And in one of the closest votes in history, Montero's strike edged out New York forward Thierry Henry's olimpico to be named Week 28's AT&T Goal of the Week.

Montero is the second straight Sounders player to win the award, after Eddie Johnson took the honors last week
