American Exports preview: Dempsey set for Spurs debut?

Clint Dempsey was kept out of Fulham's match vs. Sunderland as a precaution.

AMSTERDAM – The end of another international break means our American exports head back to work for a full weekend of European action that could see club bows for Clint Dempsey, Maurice Edu and Oguchi Onyewu. All times listed in ET.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Reading vs. Tottenham Hotspur (Sunday, 1 pm on Fox Soccer)

Americans: Clint Dempsey, Brad Friedel (Spurs) - The former USMNT netminder is expected to extend his record for consecutive EPL starts to 308, while fresh arrival Dempsey is in line for a Tottenham debut.

The teams are both winless on the young season, but each has one victory from their two prior league meetings at Reading. Spurs have just one win from the last 11 EPL road games.

Stoke City vs. Manchester City (Saturday, 10 am on Fox Soccer 2Go)

Americans: Geoff Cameron, Maurice Edu (Stoke) - Fresh from US back line duty, Cameron should slide back to midfield for the Potters. Edu, meanwhile, is looking for his EPL debut.

Stoke have drawn their last four league matches and are winless in nine. On the other hand, they have not lost a top flight home contest against Citeh since 1981.

SPANISH LA LIGA

Málaga vs. Levante (Saturday 10 am on beIN Sport Espanol)

American: Oguchi Onyewu (MCF) - With Martin Demichelis doubtful due to a midweek injury, Gooch could see his first Málaga action when the Frogs come to town.

This fixture has been no plague for Málaga, though, with shutout wins on all three previous Levante visits.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

Hannover 96 vs. Werder Bremen (Saturday, Sat. 9:30 am)

American: Steve Cherundolo (H96) - Having staged a daring derby raid at Wolfsburg in the last round, the captain and his Reds return home to tackle their next closest rival.

Cherundolo & Co. currently hold the Bundesliga's longest home unbeaten streak at 19 games. Despite dropping the last two AWD clashes, Bremen still hold the all-time series edge in Hannover.

DANISH SUPERLIGA

FC Copenhagen vs. FC Nordsjælland (Saturday, 1 pm)

American: Michael Parkhurst (FCN) - The US right back will take his customary place when defending champs try to regain the league perch in the first of three season showdowns with Superliga bigwigs FC Copenhagen.

The Wild Tigers have scratched out two wins from the last five away in the series, including a key 1-0 decision last season. The hosts, currently up on FCN by three points in the table, will show up unbeaten in nine league outings.

NORWEGIAN TIPPELIGAEN

Rosenborg vs. Vålerenga (Sunday, 1 pm)

Americans: Chad Barrett (VIF), Mikkel Diskerud (RBK) - The big American vs. American battle this weekend takes place in the better half of the Tippeligaen table. Both should start as Barrett's Bohemians chase the last Europa League slot, now possessed by Mix and the Troll Kids (a great band name for anyone in need of one).

Rosenborg have gone 17 games across all competition without a loss. They've also generally made light home work of Vålerenga throughout the years, including six straight wins by a 15-4 tally.
