Am. Exports: Wooten loaned to 2.Bundesliga's Sandhausen

Andrew Wooten of FC Kaiserslautern

AMSTERDAM – Kaiserslautern forward Andrew Wooten will play for 2.Bundesliga side SV Sandhausen this season after completing a loan move on Thursday afternoon.

Sandhausen, who play less than an hour's drive away from Fritz-Walter Stadion, do not hold an option to buy the US youth international following his loan.

"We want to give Andrew the opportunity to gain match practice so that he can continue his positive development at a higher level," Red Devils chairman Stefan Kuntz told reporters.

Wooten scored a goal in seven Bundesliga outings last term. In all, he has hit 43 times in 76 games for Kaiserslautern II.

The Schwarz-Weiß have started the new campaign with a pair of league draws and a DfB-Pokal humbling of division foe Energie Cottbus after winning promotion along with the 3.Bundesliga crown. Sandhausen get back in action Friday night with a visit from Union Berlin.
