AT&T GotW update: Sene's knuckler leads Alonso volley

Saer Sene celebrates a goal

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 21

Saer Sene is on his way to his first Goal of the Week title.

After scoring nine goals this season, this could be the first time the New England Revolution forward walks away with the award if voting continues to go his way. After a smooth pass from midfielder Kelyn Rowe found Sene with nobody within sight, he took a shot from 30 yards and left Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath scrambling only to punch it up into the net.

Through Thursday morning, Sene has a slight lead on Seattle midfielder Osvaldo Alonso’s volley against the Colorado Rapids, and with Sounders fans likely to stuff the ballot boxes, it's likely to be close should the Frenchman manage to win his first title.

There's still time to voice your opinion. Cast your ballot before voting ends on Thursday at 11:59 pm PT. The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and via text and is announced on Fridays. Here's how the voting stands as of Thursday morning:

1.Saer Sene (NE), 27%

2. Osvaldo Alonso (SEA),24%

3. Jairo Arrieta (CLB), 22%

4. Steven Lenhart (SJ), 14%

5. Chris Rolfe (CHI),  13%
