American Exports: Parkhurst back in Nordsjaelland training

Michael Parkhurst of FC Nordsjælland

AMSTERDAM — Ace FC Nordsjælland defender Michael Parkhurst is back in training after finally completing recovery from a broken toe injury suffered last season. The Danish champs are hoping he can return to the lineup by the end of the month.

Having been prescribed additional preseason rest to finish healing properly, the US international missed the Wild Tigers' season-opening win at AC Horsens on Monday.

"He broke his right pinky toe during last season and played with it," FCN press officer Kristoffer Skadhauge told MLSsoccer.com. "He rested from some training during the preseason, but he is back playing with his teammates [in training]. Hopefully, he will be back in one or two weeks."

Parkhurst will remain a spectator on Saturday's trip to FC Midtjylland, but could be fit to suit up when the Farum Park boys play their home opener against Odense BK the following Sunday.
