American Exports: Davies moves to Danish club Randers

Charlie Davies

AMSTERDAM – Fresh off being granted a mutual-consent release from Sochaux, Charlie Davies has joined promoted Danish outfit Randers FC on a two-year deal.

The US international starts training under caretaker manager Colin Todd on Saturday. It's a late preseason arrival, as the Horses will saddle up to kick off the new Superliga campaign with a visit to Conor O'Brien's SønderjyskE the following Saturday.

Davies will soon become the third former MLS man to suit up for Randers, following Will John and Yura Movsisyan. The club also formerly employed New England Revolution attacker Lee Nguyen.

The 26-year-old New Hampshire native started his Sochaux career with much promise, but the long recovery from multiple injuries suffered in a horrific 2009 car accident eventually limited him to two goals in 10 Ligue 1 appearances for the club. Davies has also played for D.C. United, scoring 11 goals on loan from Sochaux in 2011, and Hammarby.
