Save of the Week

PK stop by Crew's Gruenebaum takes Save of the Week

Crew's Andy Gruenebaum makes a save during a game

It's about time Andy Gruenebaum got his time in the limelight.

The Columbus Crew goalkeeper has enjoyed a stretch of standout performance for his club recently, and this week fans recognized his penalty kick stop on Chris Wondolowski as the Save of the Week for Week 11.

Wondolowski had a chance to put San Jose up at home in the 22nd minute on May 19, but his shot down the middle was blocked by Gruenebaum. Columbus would later take the lead only to see San Jose score a late equalizer.

Gruenebaum edged out Sean Johnson, the most recent Save of the Week winner, for the award.
