English side Chelsea FC will face the best of MLS with the UEFA Champions League trophy in tow after beating Bayern Munich on penalty kicks in a dramatic affair on Saturday afternoon in Munich.

Bayern thought they had won their fifth European title when Thomas Muller put them ahead in the 83rd minute, but Didier Drogba scored on a powerful header with two minutes remaining to equalize and force extra time.

The German giants, who were the first team to play the European final at home since 1984, failed to take advantage of a penalty kick awarded to them early in the extra time session. Dutch star Arjen Robben saw his shot saved by Chelsea's expert goalkeeper Peter Cech.

The Blues' shotstopper then came up big again during the penalty kick shootout, stopping an Ivica Olic attempt in the fourth round as Chelsea took the shootout 4-3. Bastian Schweinsteiger struck the post on Bayern's final kick and Drogba converted to give Chelsea their first ever European title.

Chelsea will also be playing in the 2012 World Football Challenge, facing the Seattle Sounders on July 18 at CenturyLink Field(TICKETS), battling Paris St. Germain at Yankee Stadium on July 22 (TICKETS) and then matching up against AC Milan on Saturday, July 28 at SunLife Stadium in Miami (TICKETS).
