American Exports: Gatt, Molde climb to second in Norway

AMSTERDAM – A pair of Americans laced up in Norway on Wednesday, with Josh Gatt (above) and defending champs Molde FK climbing up to second place with a 2-0 victory over visiting Fredrikstad.

The US prodigy drew a pair of saves on either side of the break and fired just over near the end of his 86 minutes, which also included a yellow card. The win puts Molde a point off the Tippeligaen summit with a superior goal differential to leaders Strømsgodset.

Molde were able to leap a rung thanks to Hønefoss netminder Steve Clark posting a 1-0 victory at Rosenborg.

The Michigan native went into the ref's book midway through the second half, mere moments after pulling off a pair of sparkling saves to keep the game scoreless. Helge Haugen netted the lone goal with three minutes remaining to lift the visitors up to eighth.
